What brings you here?
Sometimes you have a clear question. Sometimes you have several pieces of a picture and a sense that they belong together.
My work involves looking at those connections: your health, sleep, stress, daily life and shifts in consciousness. Through esoteric and transpersonal acupuncture, transpersonal counselling and wellness consulting, I draw on Chinese medicine, clinical experience and research to explore the wider pattern with you.
You might be living with a condition that has not resolved, wanting to sleep better or think more clearly, making sense of a significant experience, or deepening your own practice. You may be a practitioner interested in learning, a podcast host, or an organiser looking for a speaker or group facilitator.
Before we talk
Some of the questions I am asked most often. If yours is not here, write to me below.
The work
-
Many of the people I see have been unwell for a long time. Some are living with autoimmune or other chronic conditions. Some are going through treatment for a serious illness. Most have seen several practitioners and collected a lot of results and advice along the way.
I think of my role as a puzzlemaster. I sit down with everything you have, the history, the test results, the treatments and what you have noticed yourself, and look for how the pieces connect. Sometimes something has been missed between specialties. Sometimes a pattern only shows when the whole picture is laid out.
I can’t promise an answer, and I don’t replace your doctors. What I can offer is time, a wide frame of reference and a plan we adjust as we learn more, alongside the care you already have.
-
These offer different ways of understanding an experience. Research helps us assess evidence for particular approaches. Chinese medicine brings a long tradition of observing patterns. Clinical experience helps me ask questions about the person in front of me.
I aim to be clear about the difference between an established finding, a traditional explanation and something I have observed in practice. The evidence varies across the methods I use. Some aspects of energy and consciousness work remain exploratory, and I welcome questions about that.
-
Transpersonal acupuncture is the term I use for an approach that brings acupuncture together with attention to emotional life, meaning and consciousness.
We begin by discussing what brings you in and agreeing on the focus of the session. Depending on what is appropriate, the work may include acupuncture, sound, guided attention or meditation. There is also time to talk about what you noticed and how it relates to everyday life.
People’s experiences vary. You do not need to have a dramatic experience for the session to be worth reflecting on.
-
No particular belief or meditation experience is required. You’re welcome to be curious, uncertain or sceptical.
We can talk through the language I use and what a practice involves before you decide whether to try it. You don’t have to adopt my interpretation of an experience. Your questions, preferences and comfort are part of the conversation.
-
Yes. You may have had an experience through meditation, a retreat, a period of change or ordinary life that has left you with questions. Perhaps your awareness feels different, or something meaningful has happened that you are still finding words for.
My training in transpersonal counselling gives us a framework for exploring the experience without rushing to decide what it means. We can look at how it relates to your sleep, relationships, work and sense of direction, and what helps you feel grounded.
If an experience is distressing or disrupting daily life, appropriate medical or psychological support may also be needed. We can discuss the scope of my work and whether another kind of support would be more suitable.
Working with me
-
Yes. It is useful to know what care you are already receiving, what has helped and what questions remain.
My work can sit alongside medical, psychological and other healthcare support. It does not replace necessary assessment or treatment, and changes to prescribed medication should be discussed with your prescriber. Where something falls outside my scope, I will say so.
-
Yes. You may be doing a lot already: supplements, a training plan, sleep tracking, blood tests, advice from more than one practitioner. Often nobody is looking at how it all fits together.
In a wellness consultation we go through what you are taking and doing, what your results show and what you want from it. I draw on Chinese medicine, emerging research and clinical experience to help you see what is working together, what may be doubling up and what is worth raising with your doctor. The aim is a plan that is safe, simple and suited to you.
Consultations are by phone or video, so you can be anywhere.
-
Yes. Some people come for a single session. Others want someone to stay with the process over months and adjust as things change. For that I keep a small number of places for ongoing work, with a thorough first month, regular reviews and priority access to my time.
Places are subject to availability. If this interests you, mention it in your message and we can talk about whether it suits.
-
Sessions in person are available by appointment near Byron Bay. These can include acupuncture and hands on work.
Phone and video consultations offer space for discussion, wellness consulting, reflection and integration. They are a different format from an acupuncture session in person. If you’re unsure which would suit you, send a few lines about what you’re looking for and we can discuss where to begin.
Teaching and speaking
-
Yes. I teach through the Lightwork Academy and welcome enquiries about talks, workshops and group experiences. I’m also glad to hear from podcast hosts and writers.
If you’re a practitioner, tell me about your background and what you would like to explore. If you’re organising an event or a recording, include the audience, location, proposed dates and the kind of conversation or experience you have in mind. That gives us a useful place to start.

What has your attention at the moment? Tell me a little about what you’re noticing, what you’re hoping for, or the question you would like to explore.
A few lines is plenty. There’s no need to include a detailed health history in this first message. I read every message myself and will reply as soon as possible.
